Corsham Running Club Beginners Group March 2017 – Open For Applications

We are delighted to announce that we are taking applications for our next beginners group which starts on Thursday March 2nd 2017. If you would like to apply for a place on this program then please e-mail us with your details and we will get back to you with the next steps.

Please see our Beginners Group page for more information on the course itself and the Join Our Beginners Group page for more details on how to join the course.

Beginners Running is designed to get anyone from having little or no running experience, to being able to run a 5k at the end of a 10 week course. It is also useful to those runners who may be coming back from injury, or time away from running.

So get your applications in and your trainers on! We look forward to welcoming you all at the beginning of March.

Club Championship Table – Slaughterford 9

The club championship tables are now on display at THIS LINK

The early lead in the ladies has gone to Debra Kearsey with Lauren Edwards and Rachel Cannon in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Pete Allen is leading the men with Lee Davis and Jon Morrell in 2nd and 3rd. Lee, Jon and Craig were all very close to Pete on age grading so hopefully we’re in for quite a battle in 2017.

The next club championship race is the Wiltshire 10 on Sunday 12th February

Slaughterford 9

What a fantastic start to this years Championship racing,  Corsham Running Club were certainly out in force today and looking at the results there are fantastic times from all our members.  Whether you did the race for time or just personal achievement you were all awesome, for those who may have doubted there was any mud believe me there was plenty of it. Thank you to those who took the time to come along and support us all at various places around the course. It is and always will be a pleasure to run with you all and our thanks to Jon Morrell who organised the post run curry as his final social engagement.

Request for Blind Runner Guide for Lungbuster on 5th Feb

We’ve received a request (replicated below) to ask if anyone would like to be a guide for a blind runner. The race is a 10 mile cross country starting in Broad Hinton and you’d get free entry and a medal at the end.

If you can help out please contact Rob Davies on

I’m a blind runner who races most weekends.

I’m writing to ask if you could post on facebook or twitter or email current entrants of lungbuster 2017 on Sunday 5 February to see if anyone would be willing to guide me

No experience needed

I would just hold a right arm

I would obviously be slow, due to the nature of the ground

I run road 10 miles in around 2 hours

I would also appreciate the guide collecting me from a friend’s in Park South and back.

I look forward to hearing from you either way
