Regular Club Sessions

stretching_watchAs a general rule, we run a 5 or 6 mile route each Tuesday and Thursday evening from the Springfield Community Campus. We generally meet outside the front entrance during the summer months. During the darker and colder evenings we meet inside in the exhibition area. Please head through reception, past the climbing wall, and gather on the left-hand side keeping the walkway free for other users of the facility. Announcements and briefing are from 18:50 in preparation for a 19:00 start.

As we aim to cater for all abilities, there are usually two independent sessions run. One is targeted at an Intermediate training level and one is targeted at a slightly more advanced training level. Both sessions have their own training plan and schedules detailed on the training calendar. We do also run both sessions together where possible for example when we do the meet and greet runs. If you don’t fancy a 5 or 6 mile run then maybe you’d prefer to run with our 3 Mile Group.

In summer, given the longer hours of daylight, we choose to run as much off-road as possible. We have a variety of splendid local routes from which we can choose, and this is usually decided on the night. Approximately once a month throughout the summer we visit other local venues from which to run. Full details of the routes for these away runs can be found on our away runs page. The dates for forthcoming away runs can be found within our event calendar and will be communicated to members via e-mail in advance.

Please Note: when an away run is planned, there will be no official runs from our usual venue

In winter, we have a selection of planned, well-lit routes to run. As running off-road is not possible we vary the sessions as much as we can with a mix of different Tempo/Interval sessions and Hill Repetitions and the odd steady run.
