It’s been Half Marathon week here at Corsham Running Club with 31 members at 4 different half marathons.
We had 20 runners at Chippenham Half Marathon as well as a good number of supporters.
There were notable performances and PBs from David Warren (1:21:04 and M40 winner), James Lye (1:32:29) and Marie Vinolo-Young (1:40:02) as well as John Hillman, Richard Prosser and Aimee Gott who were all doing their first half marathon.
We had 7 members at Swindon Half Marathon where Alan Rex Kember got a 1:33:52 PB and was 2nd M60.
Helen Wilkinson took on Mo Farah at the Great North Run but he held her off for his 5th win but it was still a great race for Helen.
And we had 3 members at the Crafty Fox Half(ish) Marathon which was apparently brutal.
Andrew Wood did the Rat Race Coast to Coast event. 105 miles of Running, Cycling and Kayaking over 2 days in Scotland.
And finally we sadly had our last summer away run, from the Quarryman’s Arms in Box. A 5-7 mile loop enjoyed by all with a drink or a meal enjoyed by most on completion.
But don’t worry, if you have a headtorch and trail shoes then the Full Moon runs start in a couple of weeks from the Neston Inn.
And don’t forget, if you did race this weekend or any event over the summer then write a few words for the newsletter and send it over (with pictures if you have any) to news@corshamrunningclub.co.uk
