This weekend saw the culmination of the specific training programme aimed at getting our members to complete a 10K in 45 or 50 minutes. We had 26 runners at the Spring Clock Change Challenge in Calne, where at least 13 of them secured a PB. Mark Cortaville, John Hible, Simon Marsh, Chris Hunt, Christopher Sapiano, Lauren Edwards, Nick Maryon, Oscar Stringer, Jane Clarke, Kathryn Roynon, Katharine Burrett, Lois Norcott, Helen Wilkinson.
Special mention should go to David Mackie pacing 45 minutes and Stewart Unsworth pacing 50. And of course, extra special mention to Mr. Awesome David Bethune as well as the equally awesome Jane Clarke and Andrew Wood for leading the 45/50 minute target sessions.
And remember, If you didn’t get the time you were hoping for, there are always more races, this is part of your journey, not your final destination.
Andrew Wood made us all jealous again as he took on the Ras Yr Aran Fell Race in Wales and enjoyed spectacular views like in the photo below.
Of course, now the clocks have gone forward and British Summer Time is here, our attention turns to the fields and hills and we can all enjoy the spectacular running in the countryside. Keep an eye out for our popular away runs, many of which start and finish at a pub.
