Larmer Tree Half Marathon Report by David Mackie

Dan Harman, Dave Mackie, Alan Kember and Gavin Johnson travelled to the far south of Wiltshire to partake in White Star Running’s Larmer Tree Half. All enjoyed the splendid off road route round the rolling hills, woods and fields surrounding Larmer Tree Gardens. Going was moist to muddy but pretty good, and the weather benign but unfortunately misty so views from the top of the hills obscured. Dan and Alan, in his first off road half, started and stayed strong to finish 14 and 22 respectively in a field of 332 runners and under two hours, with Dave and Gavin slightly further back. It being White Star, their already good value race was improved by delivering a 14.3 mile “half” course. In sum, great & sporty course, super organisation and spectacular peacock based bling made it an event to enjoy and remember; put it or one of the other equally fab White Star Running events in your running “to do” list.
