Weekly Review – Week Ending 14th April

We’ve not done as much racing this week but still lots of other things going on.

On Saturday, 5 of our members went to Wales for the Longtown Llanthony Loop Fell Race. 8ish miles and 2,500 feet of climbing and descending.

It’s definitely marathon season as we had 4 at Brighton marathon. A fantastic PB for Chris Hunt of 3:35:22. Lucy Bright also got a PB with her first marathon in a time of 4:50:50 and I think the same is true for Ed Harper with his 3:53:31. Jo Gill was doing her second marathon in 2 weekends, only 7 minutes slower than last week and still under 4 hours. Well done to all.

We also had our first summer away run of the year with our traditional visit to Biddestone for a range of 3-7 mile runs and a visit to the pub on completion.

Congratulations to the 10K and 2K organising committee who have been recognised by Corsham Town Council for the positive contribution to the community.

Obviously these events rely heavily on volunteers from CRC (and many other Corsham institutions) so it’s a recognition for all of us.

And of course, if you’re not already signed up to help this year then we will always accept more volunteers. Even if you’re running it, there’s lots to do before you start.

We opened entries to the Hazelbury Hurrah! taking place on the evening of Friday 12th July. We’ve added a fun run and a junior race so Dave Mackie and the HH! committee are looking for volunteers. So please help out and make our events the best that we can offer.
