Over the summer my running was in desperate need of rejuvenating whilst I was experiencing a dip in motivation. Having recently moved to the area, it felt like a good time to join a running club and meet new and local people.
There are several clubs in the area, but Corsham Running Club stood out to me as I was drawn to the friendly demeanour in comparison to other Clubs and their websites. I picked up a prompt reply off the back of an enquiry email to say they were looking forward to welcoming me! Off I went to a Thursday night session to see what the club is all about. I truly have never met a friendlier bunch or had a warmer welcome. That was decision made!

Now, I feel completely at ease to drop by on a Tues or Thurs evening; If you’re in the mood for a ‘chatty run’ that’s perfect, or if your preference is to have a serious session – no problem! Even with a wide range of experience within the group, absolutely everyone is catered for.

Sessions are really well thought out as the Running Leads put in a lot of effort with building out the training schedule. Always a new route to try out, or a different training style which keeps you on your toes. What’s more there’s always a race or social run to get involved with too.

With only a few months under my belt of enjoying the club, I can already see my running improving – but more importantly I’ve regained motivation to get back out there. The enjoyment of pounding the pavements and exploring the trails is back with a mighty revenge! Thank you CRC and your smiles of encouragement!
