Weekly Review – Week Ending 18th November

It was a PB-tastic weekend for our members with some smashing times at the Castle Combe Chilly 10K but more on that later.

The weekend started with the Roundway Revenge at Devizes, up a big hill with fantastic views and back down again. Dave Mackie and Andrew Wood were representing Corsham and Andrew is in danger of getting a reputation at this race, see if you can spot his extra kit in the photo.

Not content with a hilly race on Saturday, Dave travelled to the Keynsham Dandy with Richard Biggs on Sunday morning for another 12 miles of hills and this time took on wading through rivers too. I hope they’ve both managed to warm up now.

Jon Morrell travelled to the 2012 Olympic Rowing lake at Eton Dorney for the Windsor and Eton Autumn Classic 10K. He ran most of the race with another competitor but employed a perfectly timed Mo Farah kick to the line to win overall.

And finally, that Castle Combe Chilly 10K

Fantastic performances all round but the PBs came tumbling down,

James Lye knocked off 4 minutes

Natalie Inman – over 3 minutes

Katharine Burrett – 2 minutes and broke the hour.

Kathryn Roynon – 2 minutes, making 12 minutes since the Corsham 10K.

Mark Cortaville – 2 minutes

Marie Vinolo-Young – 28 seconds.

And Luke Davies matched his PB running with Mark.

Well done to everyone.
